UEFA A coach and professional scout Scouting, analysis and coaching in one method Works with public data only

The method

Data describes what happens. It does not explain why.

Data scouts and "eye" scouts argue about which is better. It's the wrong argument. Each stage of the hybrid method covers the blind spots of the others, and the order matters.

1

Video first

Form your own impression before you open any numbers, so data cannot anchor your judgement.

2

Data to verify

Use the numbers to confirm or challenge what you saw. Every gap between eye and data is a question, not an answer.

3

The stadium to understand

Tactical intelligence, body language, reactions to mistakes and off-ball work are read best from the stand.

A gap between what you saw and what the data says isn't an error. It's information, and often exactly where other clubs get it wrong.

Three lines, one method

Evaluate players. Read matches. Coach the team.

Scouting, match analysis and coaching usually live in separate rooms. MC5 Football connects them with the same method: video first, data to verify, the stadium to understand.

Who's behind it

Built by a UEFA A coach and professional scout working in top-flight European football.

Trained in match analysis, with years of work on players across international markets. MC5 Football teaches the method behind that work: video first, data to verify, the stadium to understand. Applied to players, to matches and to the training ground.

It stays anonymous on purpose. What matters here is the method, not the name on the badge.

  • The method, never the clubNo club names, no internal processes, no confidential information.
  • No live targetsExamples use well-known players, completed transfers, past matches or anonymised cases. Never players currently being scouted or opponents currently being analysed.
  • Public data onlyNo screenshots or data from licensed platforms. You learn a method that works with what you can access.

Questions

Who is this for?

Aspiring and working scouts, match analysts, youth and amateur coaches, agents, and anyone who wants to read football with a professional method rather than gut feeling or stats alone.

Do I need paid data platforms?

No. The method works with the public data available to anyone. Paid platforms add detail, but the way you connect eye, data and live observation stays the same.

Is the template really free?

Yes. Enter your email and you'll receive the PDF straight away, together with The MC5 Notebook. You can unsubscribe whenever you want and keep the template.

Can I use it for youth or amateur football?

Yes. Score every trait against the target league you're scouting for, whatever its level. The scale is built for exactly that.

Why is the author anonymous?

Because the method matters more than the name, and because professional confidentiality comes first. You'll never read about a club's internal processes or players currently being scouted.
